WhatsApp has unrolled a replacement feature which will help the users manage their storage well. The messaging app on Tuesday announced a replacement feature that might let users delete bulk items and release space.

WhatsApp was rumored to be performing on this feature for quite a while now and it’s finally made it official for users. Announcing the new feature on Twitter, WhatsApp tweeted from its official handle. “We’ve made it easy to review, bulk delete items, and release space.

This new storage management tool is often found in Settings > Storage and Data > Manage Storage.” WhatsApp also shared a video of how the feature will work. In the video, it is often seen that the user is notified with a ‘storage almost full’ banner on the highest of their chat window once they hit the utmost limit.

If you tap on the storage full banner, you’ll be taken to the Manage Storage section. The Manage screen will show which media has haunted what proportion of space and other sorts of content. Here is how you’ll use the feature

  • Open your app and attend Settings
  • Attend manage Storage and data
  • Then tap on Manage storage

Users also will get separate sections which will show the space haunted by forwarded messages and files that are larger than 5MB. This is able to make it easier for users to urge obviate stuff that’s absolutely non-essential.

WhatsApp also will display what proportion space each chat on a contact list has haunted. Users can release space files, media, and even messages by tapping on the select all option. However, a user must remember that the media that they’re deleting from their app would remain on their phones.

This feature only helps up in cleaning up the app store and not phone storage. So if there’s something that you simply want to delete from your phone, you’ll need to roll in the hay manually. WhatsApp will start rolling out this feature for Android and iOS users.

“We now offer easy cleanup suggestions by bucketing both large files and media that has been forwarded repeatedly, sorting files by size in descending order, and providing the way to preview files before deleting them.

You’ll also see a preview of media before selecting one or multiple items to delete. The new storage management tools are rolling bent users worldwide in the week. When available, users can navigate to the new tool by getting to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage,” WhatsApp said during a statement.
