The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar details for free in order to better serve the country’s 138 crore (1.38 billion) Aadhaar holders.

UIDAI has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar data updates from December 14, 2024, to June 14, 2025. The extension will allow Aadhaar holders to update their card information online for free. In order to ensure the accuracy of demographic data, UIDAI has frequently extended deadlines to encourage people to keep documents updated in their Aadhaar records.

Aadhaar Update Last Date

“UIDAl extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2025; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on myAadhaar portal. UIDAl has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their Aadhaar,” mentioned the statutory authority of the Aadhaar Act, 2016.

The only method to enhance service delivery and guarantee accurate Aadhaar-based authentication is for Aadhaar Cardholders to update their Aadhaar database documents for free on the myAadhaar website. After the deadline for updating Aadhaar data, which has been rescheduled for June 14, 2025, there will be fees for offline changes at Aadhaar facilities.

Why updating Aadhaar is important

The importance of maintaining accurate and current Aadhaar details has been stressed by UIDAI on a regular basis. The Government of India released Aadhaar, a 12-digit unique identification number, which is used to access a variety of services and advantages, such as filing income tax returns, booking travel tickets and so on. Thus, maintaining thorough updates will help you in maintaining current identifying documentation.

Furthermore, frequent Aadhaar updates ensure the accuracy of the data linked to Aadhaar holders. This lowers the possibility of fraud, misuse, and mistakes relating to identity. The UIDAI invites all Aadhaar holders, particularly those whose cards were issued over a decade ago or minors who have turned 15, to take advantage of this extended deadline and update their details promptly. Residents are urged to check their information and make the necessary changes online during the free update window, which ends on June 14, 2025.
