WhatsApp is creating a lot of fascinating features. The messaging app was recently found to be testing a new feature that will mute groups with more than 256 members. With the most current beta update, the feature is now accessible to WhatsApp beta testers.
This shows that not every user has yet had use of the feature. WhatsApp recently debuted the Communities feature. The functionality, which is an enlargement of the groups, allows you to add more participants.
Wabetainfo,which monitors all WhatsApp-related activities, found the feature in a test version of the messaging programme. The ability to automatically mute extensive group discussions has reportedly been made available to certain beta testers in order to help reduce notifications, and more users will get it in the coming days.
Currently, 1024 people can be added to WhatsApp groups. While many individuals would find this useful, others could find it disorganised. As a result, if a group has more than 256 members, the group will be muted right away.
If you decide against turning off the notifications, you can always unmute the group.
“WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.15 is marked as a compatible update but some lucky beta testers may also receive this feature after installing one of these updates: 2.22.24.9, 2.22.24.10, 2.22.24.11, and 2.22.24.14,” the report said.
All the beta testers who update to the latest beta version will get the feature, but if you haven’t received the feature yet, you can wait for a future update.
