WhatsApp, the Meta-owned instant messaging service, is now working on a darker top app bar, for its Android beta version. To provide users with a unique visual experience while using the app, this change has been carried out. To offer more quickly efficiency and a more visually pleasing experience, the app has introduced a darker themes based on grayscale and the color black. This difference will be noticeable, particularly on advanced mobile phones with AMOLED screens.

“With this change, WhatsApp hopes to further align its application with the style of Material Design 3, and it seems they also want to add a sense of modernity to the theme, which has not received updates for this interface for many years,” WABetainfo reported.

“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.17 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp also plans to introduce changes for the top app bar while using the dark theme,” the report added.

The screenshot shared by WABetainfo shows the difference between the current version and the one that’s coming. Compared to the one you often see on WhatsApp, the top app bar is noticeably darker.

User Feedback on WhatsApp’s Dark Theme for Android and Future Updates

Although the majority of users seem to welcome this modification, WABetainfo reports that some users still believe that the creator ought to provide a new dark theme for the Android app, similar to the one offered in WhatsApp for iOS.

For advanced mobile phones with an AMOLED screen, darker theme based on grayscale and the color black might deliver better performance and be more aesthetically pleasing. The top app bar is still being developed and will be made available to beta testers in a future update of the app.

These changes to WhatsApp’s header are a welcome upgrade over its strong Android layout. On the other hand, WhatsApp for iOS has had this theme for a while.

In related news, WhatsApp will soon update its native desktop client for Windows with new features. By installing the latest and most recent WhatsApp beta versions from the Microsoft Store, users will get access to large stickers on the desktop version.
